TFM in Nairobi: “Africa in the Road” continues in Kenya

The Kenyan capital hosted the second stop of the project promoting agrifood development, with Tropical Food Machinery making its contribution.

East Africa is emerging as a fast-growing region, ready to take important steps towards the production of higher value-added products such as juices, purees and jams.

TFM’s participation in the “Italian Agrifood Technology for Africa” mission in Nairobi, organized in collaboration with CibusTec and hosted by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), proved to be an important opportunity for the company, which once again demonstrated its leading expertise in tropical fruit processing.

The opening ceremony featured several distinguished speakers, including the ambassador of Italy to Kenya H.E. Vincenzo Del Monaco, the director of ITA Nairobi Giuseppe Manenti, and Tobias Alando, CEO of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM). The day continued with business-to-business meetings between TFM and companies and institutions from Kenya and Tanzania.

Over the following days, TFM visited several local processing facilities, both in the Nairobi area and in more remote counties, with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of local needs and existing fruit processing value chains. The visits highlighted the strong interest of local stakeholders in the Company’s technologies, which enable efficient processing even on a small to medium scale.

The mission concluded with a meeting at the headquarters of the Agricultural Food Authority (AFA), providing an opportunity to discuss agro-industrial development opportunities and future collaboration with local institutions.

The Nairobi mission once again confirmed the importance, for Tropical Food Machinery, of engaging directly with Customers, producers and institutions to develop projects that effectively meet the needs of local value chains.
