{"id":10234,"date":"2026-09-22T16:48:27","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T14:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tropicalfood.net\/?p=10234"},"modified":"2026-09-22T16:50:41","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T14:50:41","slug":"italian-agrifood-in-zimbabwe-new-opportunities-in-the-tomato-processing-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tropicalfood.net\/en\/italian-agrifood-in-zimbabwe-new-opportunities-in-the-tomato-processing-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian Agrifood in Zimbabwe: new opportunities in the Tomato Processing Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Italian Agrifood in Zimbabwe: new opportunities in the Tomato Processing Industry<\/h3>\n<p>The 2026 edition of the Africa on the Road project has come to an end with the meeting in the southern part of the Continent.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Following visits to Senegal and Kenya, Tropical Food Machinery took part in the third presentation event of the \u201cItalian Agrifood Technology for Africa\u201d project, held in <strong>Harare<\/strong>, the capital of <strong>Zimbabwe<\/strong>, on 17th to 18th September.<\/p>\n<p>The event, organised by the <strong>Italian Embassy<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI)<\/strong>, provided TFM with the opportunity to engage with both local institutions \u2013 particularly the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Agricultural Rural Development Authority (ARDA) \u2013 and local businesses operating in a market offering significant opportunities, especially <strong>in the field of tomato processing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/tropicalfood.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Zimbabwe-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"609\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe has <strong>significant production potential<\/strong> and is showing a willingness to revitalise existing processing facilities while investing in the development of a solid and efficient tomato processing industry. The growth of the food processing sector can help maximise the value of agricultural production, <strong>reduce losses<\/strong> caused by production surpluses, and enable the <strong>export<\/strong> of processed products to major international markets .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tropical Food Machinery<\/strong> is ready to put its expertise and technology in food processing to work, designing complete processing lines capable of turning fresh crops into high-value-added products.
